The management of the IBDM, its former collaborators and all the Institute’s staff have joined forces to honour the memory of Professor Yves Thouveny and former director of the Laboratory of Biology of Cellular Differentiation, URA -CNRS 179.
Dr. Yves R. Thouveny, directed the Laboratory of Biology of Cellular Differentiation, URA -CNRS 179 on the Luminy campus on three successive mandates (1982-1995), while contributing to the organization of the Biology Department’s teaching. He worked to consolidate his laboratory with the UMR led by Rolland Rosset, allowing the creation of the IBDML in 1993 and the LGPD in 1995.
Yves Thouveny is the author or co-author of about sixty A-rank publications. His work on tail regeneration in newts has found developments to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of spinal cord regeneration.
Beyond its involvement in the creation of the IBDM, the originality of its research work, the IBDM keeps the memory of a man of culture, with a sparkling intelligence.
