Pierre François LENNE, head the “Physical approaches to cell dynamics and tissue morphogenesis” team at the Institute of Developmental Biology of Marseille, has been awarded a prestigious Leverhulme Visiting Professorship for the academic year 2016/2017.
The Leverhume Trust is a UK research charity that makes awards for the support of research and education. The objective of the Leverhulme Visiting Professorship awards is to enable distinguished academics based overseas to spend between three and twelve months inclusive at a UK university, primarily in order to enhance the skills of academic staff or the student body within the host institution.Visiting Professors may also use the opportunity to further develop their own research project. Pierre-François’s host is the University of Cambridge. Together with Prof. Alfonso Martinez-Arias, he studies self-organization and symmetry breaking during early mammalian morphogenesis, using a minimal in vitro system composed of embryonic stem cells.
